Chris White - Senior Aquatic Biologist at NT Labs
We would like to introduce you to our Senior Aquatic Biologist. Chris White has been keeping fish for 20 years, with a special interest in freshwater fish.
Chris has always been fascinated by the natural world, but despite taking up fish keeping relatively late in life, he knew his new-found hobby would become his chosen career path. Chris gained a BSc in Zoology, and later, a MSc in Sustainable Aquaculture Systems and has worked within various sectors within the industry throughout his career. After spending time working in aquatic retail and working in various laboratories, Chris joined the Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association (OATA), and he is now proud to work for NT Labs. Chris’s experience means that he has a broad knowledge of all things ‘fish’.
Chris is particularly interested in water chemistry, saying that: “It’s at the root of what we do. If you put aside the horrible memories of chemistry class, it’s actually quite simple to understand. If you can tackle some of the simple principles of water chemistry, fish keeping becomes so much easier”.
Chris has been busy writing a series of miniature articles named “Aquatic Adaptations,” we will be posting one of these out every Monday! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled!
